Colombia

You should have a very good reason for visiting Colombia such as visiting relatives. The Australian government has a strong "reconsider your need to travel" warning on Colombia because of its frightening level of violence from drug gangs, left-wing rebels and kidnappers.

Bogota International Airport is the main entry point for flights. There are no direct flights to Colombia from Australia. American Airlines (via Los Angeles), Air Canada (via Toronto) and Aerolineas Argentina (via Auckland/ Buenos Aires) offer the most popular indirect services.

Australian passport holders can stay for up to 90 days in Colombia without a visa.

There is only an Honorary Consulate of Australia in Bogota. Australian passport holders should contact the Australia Embassy in Brazil if they require assistance in Colombia.
